Books Sections

Myanmar Books Section

This section has valuable resources of Myanmar language as well as rare printed books, fictions and non-fictions. Books on various subject fields as religion, history, language, literature, education, law, and biography have been collected.


English Books Section

This section collects all books published in English. Collections of this section consist of various subject fields like religion, theology, history, language, literature, education, science, law, and biography.


Periodicals Section

The HCTC library has collected about 100 titles of both English and Myanmar periodicals. This section contains both local and foreign magazines, journals and newspapers and publication of societies and organizations. It is strictly a reference section. There are bound volumes of religious magazines published in Myanmar and foreign.


Circulation Section

This section has the general collection and reserved collection.  The library serves to meet the needs of users oriented. This section circulates books and other materials. Faculty, students, and church members are allowed to check in or out books and other materials in the general collection. The reserved collection is selected by faculty members as required and collateral reading for their course.


Reference Section

This section is kept general reference books as Atlas, Almanac, Bibliography, Dictionary, Directory, Encyclopedia, Gazetteer, Handbook, Index and Yearbook in local and foreign. The reference desk welcomes and supports asking for help when specific information is needed by answering various types of questions in data types or essay types.

The Reference Book is a Book, which is specially arranged for the user, where he/she can easily find a meaning or a data or a fact, etc.

In this Library the notation “R”/”Ref.” is put in front of the Call Number of the Reference Books to differ from other books. General reference books like Encyclopedia, Almanacs, Bible Dictionaries, Lexicons, and Bible Commentaries may be read at the Reference Room.


Archive Section

The Rare books on Myanmar (Burma) are collected for reference used. The documents and diocesan report of CPM, annual report of each diocese, churches annual reports, and AYPA Drama (Manuscripts) are kept.


Special Collection Section

In this section, owned books which are donated to library for further use as a special donation are collected. For instance, books of Bishop George Kyaw Mya (Taungoo) and U Aung Hla Tun are kept.


Theses and Dissertation Section

The collection keeps over 300 theses in titles. More theses are from Holy Cross Theological College. Faulty, student, scholars and researchers are allowed to use as a reference and limited photocopying and scanning.

 

Computer Section

This section is set with computer to search for books and materials in E-Lib Online Public Access Catalog and free online databases. Free Internet access is allowed to users to gain access to information online.
